We’ve established as fact by God’s word that you need to be saved from the consequences of your sin, which is hell, and you cannot save yourself, now the next questions should be, can you be saved. Yes. But don’t take just my word for it, lets look at what saith the scripture. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son [Jesus] to be the propitiation for our sins (1John 4:10). For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). God assures you that he wants you to be saved, we have his word on it. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. (1Peter 3:18).
Ok, now we’ve determined that you need to be saved and cannot save yourself from the penalty of sin, which is the fires of hell when you die in your sins. God has made a way for you to escape from the penalty of sin and sins. Let me urge you to agree with God that you are a lost sinner unable to save yourself. God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ [Jesus] died for us (Romans 5:8). The AV1611 Bible says That whosoever believeth in him [Jesus] should not perish, but have eternal life. He that believeth on him [Jesus] is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God [Jesus Christ]. (John 3:18).
To be saved you must believe in and accept the Lord Jesus Christ’s full payment for your sins. God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ [Jesus] died for us. (Romans 5:8) [Jesus] Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree [cross],.. (1Peter 2:24) …And without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22). Unto him [Jesus] that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. (Rev. 1:5) If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).
You should want to be reconciled to God and you can be assured of eternal life if you believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as you have just received it from God’s word. Bow your head right now and tell the Lord Jesus you want him to write your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Thank him for saving you. Tell someone you have believed on the Saviour, Jesus Christ. Remember if you want to go to HEAVEN, TRUST JESUS, if you want to go to HELL, TRUST SOMETHING ELSE, ANYTHING ELSE!
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). Get saved!, what or who are you waiting for?
To believe is to be a doer of the Word of God not a hearer only.
God Bless you, I love reading your post, Thank You.
THANK YOU for the Big Amen. Remember when Paul warned us by saying, “lest any man spoil you through vain deceit.” That’s what has happened to many saved and unsaved. They are spoiled by vain deceivers into adding to the words of God. Concerning salvation they add water baptism, speaking in tongue, rituals and the like. When I got saved I had nothing to offer God (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) but my filth sin and He (God) offered me salvation through the finished work on the cross. I took Him up on the best offer in eternity and I am gloriously saved. My fleshly mind has been trying to mess that up to no avail for over 40 years. But bless God, I have his words on it (AV1611 of course) Amen? AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see your still paying attention to ol Zeke.
Thank you Ray, The salvation plan is so simple, but people make it hard to receive.
Acts 2:38 You might want to read my post on Dispensations – Getting Started
I also do not believe that the “KJV” is the ONLY word of God…however, because of the research I’ve done, I can see no other trustworthy English translation currently “out there” that I feel ARE the words of God in my native language.
I also use the 1769 Cambridge edition, not the original AV1611…but I have read from other translations such as the Bishops, AV1611, Great and Geneva and have little problem using any of these Reformation-era translations for the most part…however, out of all of today’s more modern translations, I can think of none except revised versions of the “KJV” to even attempt to trust.
For example, when I read in the Authorized this: ” And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” in Acts 8:37,
and I read this in the ESV: ” ……” for the same verse, I cannot in all good conscience believe that they are both the words of the living God.
One says something, and the other does not. Furthermore I don’t care about explanations as to why one is missing in a more supposedly “up-to-date” translation, when the one I have been using all my life and has been trusted for 400 years as the word of God says it the way it says it.
Careful comparison of today’s translations is all it took for me to keep relying on the one that has been trusted the longest in my native language, regardless of some of the difficult words.
At the end of the day, I believe that anyone who is led by the Spirit of God will be drawn to His very words in their native tongue, eventually…or if necessary, one in a language that they are persuaded to learn. Stamping it “KJV”, Reina Valera 1600, or something else is unimportant as to “sponsorship”, and I for one will not believe that just because someone uses another English translation means that they are not saved and have not believed.
God’s grace to you.
Jenny…The devils are fallen angels and I believe they have no hope…they have seen the glory of God and salvation is not something they can ever partake in, as it is only extended to men, as I see Scripture stating.
Also, the Jews at Pentecost had already believed, as evidenced by their being “pricked in their heart”, as I see it.
In addition, they did not ask “What must I do to be saved?”, similar to the Philippian jailer, but ” Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?”
“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” ( Acts 2:37-39 )
Jenny Knipp, PLEASE, PLEASE go to the SEARCH engine on Ezekiel3 and look up Jeus Only and Oneness Pentecostals, also look up and read my posts on Dispensations for a better understanding of God’s words. And don’t forget my post on Acts 2:38! May God bless, keep and direct you. Yours in Christ Jesus. Bro. Ray
The devils believe and tremble (James 2:19). Are they saved?
The Jews on the day of Pentecost asked Peter “What should I do to be saved?” (Acts 2:38). Was his response to believe only?
You just called an English translation Jesus’ “words.” Not hard to put two and two together here.
(P.S. Do you even know what ecumenical means?)
How did you get those two questions out of this post?
The ecumenical mind is a peculiar thing, isn’t it?
Jesus spoke 1600s English? And here I thought he was Jewish!
Just curious, why is it you say you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, yet you stumble at his words (AV1611) of course? Just asking. Bro. Ray
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? So I don’t have to believe the KJV only is the word of God? Hooray!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross for my penalty of sin, that he was crucified for my sinful nature and my darkened heart. I am redeemed through the Lord Jesus Christ and I am filled with his Holy Spirit who guides me and convicts me. Through daily prayer, meditation and being in the word each and every day I have received a peace that can only come from Jesus. I am now living my life one day at a time waiting on the direction of the Holy Spirit. I long to see Jesus face to face as all believers in Christ Jesus in fact will do when we are called to his kingdom.
