Love not the world,…1John 2:15 is a New Testament commandment that is rarely, if ever mentioned in the United States’ modern “Christian” churches. The forgoing crystal clear commandment pulled from a passage of Scripture: 1John 2:15 – 2:17 : needs a closer look.
In addition to being told to “Love not the world” in vs. 15, we are told to not love the things that are in the world. Modern churches in the United States stand in direct opposition to this two part commandment, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.” We are told not to love the things of the world because Jesus gave this warning, “And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16:15
“Modern churches”, have forsaken the words of God (AV1611 of course), thus building foundations on FAKE BIBLES and the heresies of TV preachers dating back to the days of Oral Roberts and Rex Humbard’s PROSPERITY GOSPEL. This prosperity gospel continues today with a new gang of actors including but not limited to Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Frederick K.C. Price, Creflo Dollar, Robert Tilton, Paula White, Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes, Mike Murdock, and never forget the pied piper of religious stupidity-Jesse Duplantis! The prosperity gospel peddled by the fore-mentioned religious crooks stands in stark contrast, and oppositon to the following Scriptures. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”2Cor. 4:18 If you can obtain something on this earth it will not last! That is why the Scripture commands us, Set your affections on things above, not on things on earth. Col. 3:2
Do you need more reasons why the Scripture (AV1611 of course) commands us not to love the world or the things in this world? OK, here are a few very good Scriptural reasons to ponder. A. The world is EVIL. Gal. 1:4 B. The world is PERISHIBLE 2Pet. 3:8-14 C. The world is anti-GOD and anti-BIBLE 2Tim. 4:1-6 D. The world is Controlled by Satan Luke 4:6 and 2Cor. 4:4
We’ve applied the Scriptures, now let us apply common sense. Examine with me the RELIGION PROSPERITY SITUATION with a few questions you must answer. How do struggling missionaries in third world countries relate to the prosperity gospel being broadcast across the airwaves? How does a poor Christian convert in the jungles of Africa the apply prosperity principles? Why is there no Biblical (AV1611 of course) record of the Apostle Paul applying the “prosperity gospel” to his life?
