   To start with since catholics claim that they were the ones who brought us the KJV then they should have no problem sticking to its scriptures rather than switching bibles to make it say different things.

   The contradiction that I want to start with is that, and I will try to keep this simple to understand, is that catholics bow down to graven images when the bible is VERY clear about NOT doing that. I am not talking about worshiping, serving or even venerating here, after all when you hear something quack it has to be a duck, right? I am specifically talking about the act of bowing to a graven image and I am not even talking about the idolatry yet, either.

   (Exodus 20:4-5) “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: {5} Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”

   (Leviticus 26:1) “Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.”

   (Deuteronomy 5:8-9) “Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: {9} Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,”

   Lets make sure we understand what a graven image is according to scripture;

   (Deuteronomy 4:15-19) “Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: {16} Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, {17} The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, {18} The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: {19} And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.”

   In fact the bible is clear about what the image of God is and its not a statue;

   (2 Corinthians 4:4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

   The bible is also very clear about not making God out to be a creature like us, which is the danger of statues;

   (Romans 1:22-23) “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, {23} And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.”

   Is God true when he says of the catholics that make graven images and bow to them are those that “ see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.”?

   (Isaiah 44:9) “¶ They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.”
