ADMONITIONS AND ENSAMPLES
…We obviously live in a time where church attending Christians spend little to no time in their Bible’s outside of church. That has led to a powerless church and a very loose brand of personal conduct that highly displeases the Lord. Many of the characteristics lacking in the personal traits of these folks comes from the fact that what little time they do spend in the Bible is almost exclusively spent in the New Testament.
…Two NT verses specifically address the OT and show what these selective readers are missing out on. The first verse is: Rom.15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” In that verse alone they are missing out on “learning”, “patience”, “comfort” and “hope”! Could a lot of these folks benefit from those things???
And the second verse is; 1 Cor.10:11 ” Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” How many of the things listed above in (Rom.15:4) could be learned from the “ensamples” found all through the OT? And “admonitions”, Web.1828 says of “admonition”; {Gentle reproof; counseling against a fault; instruction in duties; caution; direction.} Wow! Admonitions would directly address the personal conduct issues found all to abundantly in our modern-day, powerless churches.
***Good advice*** Get in the Book!…and QUIT IGNORING THE OLD TESTAMENT!
Hey Dan, there he goes again.
If you knew Him then you would have faith in His Words and not your own!
So if it disagrees with what you think then the scriptures are wrong? Is that not what the Mormons believe? Scripture is only as true as it has been translated according to the book of Mormon, right? The scriptures are only true if they agree with you?
After all, all I have ever given was scriptures and you only get mad and call me names instead of allowing scripture to defend itself.
Do you not think that God (the Word) can defend Himself? Do you not have faith enough in God to allow Him to speak for Himself?
You two don’t believe nor do you have faith in the Word!!!!!! You don’t know who Jesus is!!!!!!
Hermeneutics amigodana hermeneutics….thats what i want from you…you can quote it all day long but do you know what your reading
You are so confusing Ray!!!!! First, you and Dan tell me to put down the bible and listen to what some preacher says. Even though you say that preachers don’t preach from the true word anymore. So, I guess you want people to believe what you say more than what they learn from scriptures. You want to be their god, right?
Which is it?
And now, Dwane, says to pick up the bible and read it. I agree with Dwane 100% on this post!!
Quote “Christians spend little to no time in their Bible’s outside of church.”
I think Ray and Dan need to listen to this post!!!! They are the ones saying that they want mans words more than Gods Words. They keep telling me to stop quoting the bible and give them my words.
I sometimes think that Dwane has a better desire for truth than you two. We may disagree but I wonder if he would compare scripture with scripture in an honest study rather than resort to name calling because he dose not know the scriptures like you two.
Who knows?
Yep!
Brother, you are 100% right!! And most don’t preach the
AV1611 because they don’t believe it!! amen, Amen, and AMEN!!!!!!!
Proverbs 14:12….there is a way wich seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death
If these preachers would preach the God of the av1611 kjv the God of abraham isacc and jacob three quarters of there congergation would say that aint my God my God isnt like that and they would get up and leave…you know what the bible says…. there is a way that seems right unto man and it leads to death
Its cuz most of them aint born again and dont care they dont even know the God of the av 1611kjv and he dont know them
