WV FANS RECEIVED SOMETHING EXTRA!
Those attending the 2013 basketball rivalry between WVU and Marshall Universities received something extra as they hurriedly made their way to the Charleston, WV Civic Center. The extra that saved and unsaved basketball fans received was a hearing of the gospel of Jesus Christ via the open-air method.
Larry had already taken up a position at the main entrance of the Civic Center when Dwane and I arrived. The three of us displayed gospel banners and open-air preached for over one and a half hours to thousands making their way from the mall and parking areas.
Our gospel message was received with meekness or at least tolerated by most who heard it. Many Christians gave a hearty Amen to our effort at reaching West Virginia’s lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ whom we preached.
Thousands heard the gospel at a minimal cost of about twenty-five dollars for gas and a snack. Open-air evangelism is by far the most economical method for reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Unhindered by the traditions of men we were at liberty to preach the sinfulness of sin, separation from a holy God as a result of sin, Hell and the eternal Lake of Fire as punishment for sin, and faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ (God) shed on the cross of Calvary as full payment for sins past, present, and future especially to those who believe. And we did not hesitate to proclaim the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God declared in the AV1611 Holy Bible!
