Below is the response of a faithful reader of Ezekiel3 concerning this blog’s DOCTRINE.  This reader is precious and since I have been unable to convince this reader of truth, as a last resort I decided to reprint the readers response in this post and asked guest writer and consultant Dwane Karr to respond.  Below is the reader’s comment and then Dwane will respond.  But first take look at the DOCTRINAL STATEMENT that put this particular reader into a tailspin.

READER’S COMMENT

 

Wow! I read all the comments. I became a Christian by reading the NIV. Now I read the New King James and the King James. Funny how the Holy Spirit works. But of course you both left Him out. God has power in His Word in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit to bring the lost unto Him. Either we will hear God speaking to us through scripture or turn a deaf ear. In reading the NIV, the first bible I came to, I heard God speaking. Ms. Carrie Temboom carried only torn scripture in her shoe and was able to bring people into the knowledge of Christ. Nor he who plants or he who waters is anything but the one who makes it grow. (Not exactly the KJV or any version, but, my understanding that it is God who makes our faith grow in Him). Isn’t that what matters? It isn’t what you read but what He does with what you read. And can He not lead you by the Holy Spirit into greater readings and understandings? We need to get ourselves out of the picture and let the One who shed His blood, died for our sins and rose from the dead, do His work in us. Arguing over what version to use, and saying that those who don’t read a certain version are damned, is taking away God’s power in all human beings and the work of the Holy Spirit and turning the power over to mere men. God’s entire purpose for the human race was not given all at once. Little by little was God’s way of communicating truths concerning Himself.

DWANE’S RESPONSE

Neither Ray nor I believe that people can only be saved, or kept , by reading and using the King James Bible. The point is simple. God has inspired (2 Tim.3:16-17, 2 Pet.1:20-21) and promised to preserve (Ps.12:6-7, 1 Pet.1:23-25)) His Words for ever. God is a fair and just God. With something as critically important as Eternal Salvation or Damnation hanging on what men do with what God SAID most assuredly God would want men to have His Words to make that choice by. Certainly God will use a piece of a torn tract or an NIV to save someone or teach a young convert. God will go out of His way for a heart that wants Him. Amen! Ms. Temboom had only torn scripture to work with and God blessed and used it. The question though is had Ms. Temboom had a complete Bible (and a way to conceal it) how much more fully furbished for her job would she have been. God will use His partial Words for His purpose if that is all that one has but how much the better if you give God the opportunity to teach you with His complete and perfect Revelation, the King James Bible. It is a saved Christian’s responsibility to Ask God what Church He wants them to attend and what Bible He wants them to use. These are Spiritual matters not matters of the flesh. Honestly pray and seek God’s face on the matter of “which Bible”. But do it with a sincere heart, a heart that is willing to switch if God leads you to do so. Our job, every one of use is to seek God’s will in everything we do. The Bible issue is the most critical of all for it (Not Direct Revelation) is God’s way of speaking to us today in the Church Age!  I pray God lead you and that your heart is honestly submissive to His Will in this matter.     It may just be me, but I get the notion that the message to you and the reply were both written by the same person seeing as Corrie teN [space] Boom’s name is spelled exactly the same in both.

    Also, if she had a KJV it would be of little use to her as she (or anyone around her) in no way could understand English at that point. It is so sad to see how KJV-only people could hold an imperfect work in such high regard.

    Betty: Amen to your response. “Pray and ask God to lead you”. Those are your words too now. Did you practice what you preach? Which version did God lead you to? Or is He confused? Or are you ecumenically confused? Bro. Ray

    Betty: “Pray and ask God to lead you” was not all of Dwane’s response. If you believe that God is able to lead us to the right version, which one is it? If it’s all versions, was the God of the universe and Author of our salvation not able to get it in one translation as when He got it right in the ORGINALS? Why doesn’t God have a committee pull from each what is true and put in one Book we can all read from? Why do you read the AV1611 when you do not believe it? As a matter of fact why do you read the other versions when you do not believe any of them to be 100 percent true and accurate either?, or do you? Why are people telling you that you are an independent Christian? You seem to be as ecumenical as anyone I’ve met. How is God leading you apart from his words in a Bible that has to be somewhere?, I mean He told you to study and search it, where is it (the Bible) my dear friend? WHERE? PRAY TELL ME, WHERE? What are you so independent from, the AV1611? Is God speaking to you through audible voices, inaudible voices, voices outside the Bible such as thoughts in your head, and is the information you get reliable when it does not come from the Bible? THINK MY FRIEND THINK!!!!! YOU ARE A REBEL AGAINST GODS AUTHORITY THE BIBLE, YOU CAN’T EVEN FIND IT. I made your previous comment into a post so others can learn from your mistakes. Check it out and please try to answer my questions above. Where the AV1611 and other modern, New Age versions differ, which one do you side with. Do you really believe God the Trinity came to a consensus to change the name of Jesus Christ to “the One” as in the NIV? THINK, PRAY, AND GET BACK TO ME ON THESE AND OTHER QUESTIONS I’VE ASKED YOU. I’M LOOKING FOR BIBLICAL ANSWERS, DO YOU HAVE THEM? With much love Bro. Ray THINK!!!
    P.S. You said in your answer that we all should pray for God to show us which version is the correct one. OK, go ahead and pray, and let me know which one He leads you to.

    Amen to your response. “Pray and ask God to lead you”. Do all Christians pray before they decide on what version to read or do they listen to suggestions from people. God is very able to lead us to the right version. Even your pleading for people to read the KJV should be second to prayer. Faith in God is weakened without prayer. Prayer builds our faith and confidence in God’s perfect ability to guide our decisions. Ray you are so funny. I do read the KJV, but sometimes I read the NKJV Study Bible. NO one lead me except God. My friends tell me I am a very independent Christian. No I say to them, I just pray and do my best to listen to Him.
