Thank you Ripley, WV for a great 4th of July celebration! Today, Duane, Charlie, Larry, Vera, and I arrived in Ripley in time for the opening ceremonies which included the Marine’s presentation of the flag, the Pledge of Allegiance and a fantastic performance of the national anthem!
A portion of the United States Constitution was read by the Mayor of nearby Ravenswood. The City of Ripley put the Constitution into practice and voiced no resistance to our rights of free speech and freedom of religion when we displayed our gospel banners and passed out gospel tracts to those in attendance. I was even told the Ravenswood Mayor privately voiced approval of our banners.
Prior to the parade and two-mile race, we preached the parade route to those who gathered early. After a short rest we reversed direction and preached the parade route again to what was now a capacity crowd waiting for the scheduled event. Our gospel message was well received by the citizens of Ripley as well as visitors. Most on the parade route were very attentive to our words as we preached Jesus Christ and him crucified for the sins of the world. Ripley, WV can be very proud of their 4th of July celebration and their attitude toward the gospel.
We want to extend our heart-felt thanks to officials and law enforcement for allowing us to preach unhindered in this beautiful city. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless each and everyone. Bro. Ray
In a few words it was a great preach. It was great having the God squad back together.
