BACK TO THE BASICS

Dear Christian Friend:

Paul the last apostle and the apostle to us Gentiles spoke following words inspired by God the Holy Ghost saying, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” 1Cor. 11:1 Many agree we are in the last of the last days just before the return of Jesus Christ to rapture His church prior to the start of the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation. Can you agree with me, now would be a good time to take another look at how the last apostle lived and followed Jesus as recorded in the words of the Living God? Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:9 Take a fresh look with me at some of Paul’s Holy Ghost-inspired writings that are being ignored and maligned by many 21st Century churches.

Romans teaches that a sinner is saved by grace, through faith, PLUS NOTHING! Here you will find doctrines that you would be wise to familiarize yourself with; they are Salvation, Redemption, Sanctification, Justification, Predestination, Adoption, Regeneration, and Glorification. Without the doctrines found in the Book of Romans, you would not be saved!

First Corinthians addresses carnal Christias and points out; among other things; humanists, personalities, philosophers, and intellectuals that don’t know what they are talking about most of the time. He devotes a whole chapter about the abuse and misuse of tongues as practiced today among Charismatics and Pentecostals, half a chapter about the misuse of the Lord’s Supper, half a chapter about haircuts, and one and a half chapters on morality. Chapter fifteen is as a great a discourse on the resurrection as anywhere in the entire Bible! Second Corinthians’ main theme is church age ministry.

Galatians can be divided into three sections for study. Chapters 1 and 2 are the Personal Section, Chapters 3 and 4 are the Doctrinal Section, and Chapters 5 and 6 are the Practical Section. This book, like Romans teaches all men that a man is saved without works by faith before and after he is saved. Selah.

Ephesians and Philippians are referred to as prison epistles because Paul wrote them while imprisoned for the gospels sake. Both were written around 62A.D. about 29 years after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Good doctrinal information and advice for daily living are in these epistles. Philippians 4:8 will wipe out 99% of TV, radio, movies, all of christian rock and rap, much christian literature, the internet, modern-day mega ministries, and etc.

Colossians is aimed at the religious and educational leaders in the Laodicean age right before the rapture.

First and Second Thessalonians deal with the death of Christians, the Rapture, the ant-christ, and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

First and Second Timothy sets sights on Christians who “depart from the faith” 1Tim. 4:1; “deny the faith” 1 Tim. 5:8; “cast off their faith” 1Tim. 5:12; “are seduced from their faith” 1Tim. 6:10; “err concerning the faith” 1 Tim. 6:21; “overthrow the faith” 2Tim. 2:18; and last but not least are “reprobate concerning the faith” 2Tim. 3:8.

Titus is similar to 1 & 2 Timothy in dealing with apostate Christianity as well as other matters. The first chapter of Titus agrees with and builds on chapter 3 of 1Timothy concerning church government, and the role of women in the church. Apostle Paul; while providing plenty of room for women in ministry; never authorizes any woman, at any time, anywhere, for any reason to hold the position of pastor or deacon. Paul clearly states a woman should never usurp authority over men.

Philemon is short and does not provide a lot of doctrine, but is an example of how to be a profitable Christian.

Hebrews is a “better book”. Hebrews deals with better hope, a better testament, a better covenant, better sacrifices, a better country, and a better resurrection! This book may well become the handbook for Jews during the Tribulation period.

This concludes my short narrative on the Pauline epistles. Please read and use to initiate your upcoming Bible (AV1611) studies. May God richly bless your efforts.
